I am new to AirSoft and I am looking to join a Team within the Uppsala/Stockholm area (I live in Knivsta). How does one do this.
I have mostly found that you have to be invited to join. But how do you get invited?
I have heard that there is a British team somewhere.
Do teams have websites?
There are two public places in Stockholm. In the contact sections, there are car pools from Knivsta to the area known as Klacken. It is a small forest and people play there every saturday.
You also have the CQB Arena run by Vapenbutiken. It is on the Southern side of Stockholm.
Since the other reply didn't quite answer your questions I'll try and do a better job.
There is indeed a contact section here. Some teams choose to recruit publicly, hence posting in that category. So check that part of the forum out, you just might find a team that suits you. If you do, contact them and tell them about yourself and what you can offer their team! If you're lucky they'll let you join.
Another way is to just play, find friends and perhaps a team. There are, as said, two places in Stockholm you can go to + one more that's a bit more "off" out in Rosersberg.
Klacken, in Barkaby, is free. Anyone can join, no invite is needed and people play there every Saturday. This is a great place to find friends, both beginners and more experienced ones.
Vapenbutiken has an arena south of Stockholm in Fittja. Mostly ppl tend to play there on Sundays but some do go there during the week. Price: 100kr/day. No invite needed.
Skeppartorp is harder to get to if you don't have a car. Usually you can call the guy who runs the place for a pickup at the station. I believe the price is 80kr/day and it's in Rosersberg.
If you don't find a team that you want to join/a team that wont let you join. Start your own! As long as you have friends who share your view it's not all too hard to put one together. There's ofc also a chance someone will spot you and think "hey, that's a damn good player" and invite you. This is a tad bit more rare tho.
Some teams do have websites, but far from all do.
There is a British team in Stockholm called Queen's Own Teabaggers. I don't think they are recruiting at the moment tho, but you might be lucky :3

Many thanks for the advise and info.
I meet the QoT team last Saturday. Nice bunch of guy's. They introduced me the a player that fixed my sniper rife (owe that guy a beer!)
There were a lot of players there (must have been around 50 maybe?).
My plan now is to build up my equipment and just get use to all the rules and just playing. My new weapon came today (L85 A2....ofcause) with my comms come later this week.
