What is the Swedish RPK rules?

Inlägg av SchlagtSieTot »

I know there probably isn't a nationwide rule towards RPK and other types of LSWish airsoft guns, but I would like to know following:

Max velocity in M/S.
Minimum weight.
Maximum ammo capacity for magazines and box mags.

I am asking because we've recently got new rules here in DK. The rules dictates that a LSW type gun has to have a minimum weight of 5 kilograms, and LSW mag capacity has been set to a maximum of 150 rounds for normal magazines and 800 for box/drum mags.
But could I use an RPK I Sweden with 200 round magazines and without placing an extra kilo of weight in it?

Edit: this is milsim rules BTW, not regular Sunday game rules.

It all depends on the organizer, I have only seen a few games with weight limitations to the weapon class. But it's very unlikely to see those kind of rules here in Sweden.
Usually a RPK is the same as any other assault rifle, M16, AK-74 and so on.

What Nielsen says.

Most large games adhere to or base their m/s on the VSAF ruleset, which can be seen here: http://www.vsaf.se/vsaf_regler_chronolista.JPG

Some games say Auto A is the limit for all rifles and SMG:s chambered 5,56 (NATO), 5,45 (Russia) and 9m (certain PDWs) and Auto B are 7,62 and larger automatic firing guns. Others say Auto A is simply rifles, carbines & SMGs while Auto B are any carried light machine gun, be it RPK, M249, PKM, M240, etc etc.
Weight is rarely specified, as Nielsen says. Maybe it would be an exception for certain vehicle mounted machine guns to shoot with a higher velocity if they are so and so heavy and mounted. They would be general exceptions, though.

I am fairly sure there are no objections to an RPK which use midcaps (those are somewhere near 200 bbs, right?) and shoots between 120-130, as long as you adhere to the safety distance. I've seen such set-ups around. But, rules and details differ slightly from game to game, so always check with the organizer!

http://www.vsaf.se/index.php?p=13

VSAF have had the minimum weight rule on machine guns for many years, but it's rarely followed nowadays. It was mostly added to prohibit M16 with c-mags and similar non-machine gun variations, back in the days when only TOP made machine guns. Today a AEG with a midcap closes the gap between a carbin and a machine gun and people also tend to kit the carbins with loads of accessories, to make them look like space guns and the carbin weight then surpasses 5kg making the the weight rule a bit obsolete. Compared the old TM plastic guns.

According to danish rules the RPK fills out a specialist role and gain a small bonus in velocity (10 m/s).
I am a true fan of keeping it simple. Placing one approximately one extra kilo in the weapon and modding down 200 rounds magazines is, IMO, waaay too much effort compared to the gain. The thought is, that weapons that performs above average should have a penalty. I understand the point, sure. But the LSW class doesn't really win that much, even when considered a specialist role. A aspect of what is the standard available on the market should be considered when setting limits I think. Therefore a limit to mag-cap should be set according to the market standard (80 round clips being the marui standard). Most RPK magazines are around 180-200 right? MAG is 160 if I remember correctly.

I am trying to figure what I am suppose do. Give up the RPK for domestic games and sell the sucker or keep it for Swedish games.
